We are currently looking for talented consultants with different types of rolling stock experience to join us. We are especially interested in talking to individuals with experience in maintenance, overhaul, performance evaluation and improvement. The ability to support the development of maintenance regimes and cost proposals for new build and existing rolling stock would be a strong advantage.

Candidates should have the following:

  • Experience in rolling stock engineering, maintenance and in new fleet introduction.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement fleet support policies and processes
  • Demonstrable practical experience in maintenance best practice.
  • Financial competence and numeric literacy.
  • The ability to compile, explain and justify cost models.
  • The ability to plan and deliver high quality outputs within challenging timescales.
  • Experience of using project tools such as Microsoft Project and project controls.
  • Experience in co-ordination of delivery teams and management of stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skill and attention to detail.
  • Great communication and report writing skills.

With offices in both Glasgow and Derby we can be flexible on working arrangements and location for the right person. Excellent salary package available, depending on experience, including bonus, pension and healthcare.

Engineering and technical support

  • Experience in rolling stock engineering, maintenance and in new fleet introduction.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement fleet support policies and processes.
  • Demonstrable, practical experience in maintenance best practice.
  • Specialist support in all aspects of rolling stock such as CFD modelling, wheel rail interface analysis, systems integration, standards compliance and on-board systems.

Commercial support

  • The ability to compile, explain and justify cost models.
  • Experience of developing manufacturer and technical support agreements.
  • The ability to interrogate and negotiate the commercial aspects of a contract.

Commercial Project Management and Technical Project Management

  • Experience in co-ordinating delivery teams and managing stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing and implementing contracts, such as manufacturing agreements and technical support agreements.
  • Involvement in tendering processes, from either a client or manufacturer perspective.
